Tithes, Gifts, & Offerings
Tithes, gifts, & Offerings can be given to Faith Baptist Church through our Sunday morning plate collection, offering boxes located at the side and rear of our auditorium, or through Automated Cash Handling (ACH) services through our business office.
General Fund & Envelope Giving
White offering envelopes, loose checks and cash put in our plates or offering boxes are used for the general fund of our church which covers the operational expenses of our ministry. White offering envelopes are provided to anyone requesting them and will be distributed to those currently using our envelope system at the beginning of each New Year. We encourage the use of offering envelopes as it allows an internal cash control system and contributes to sound accounting procedures. Year-end giving statements are sent to all those who use envelope giving and can be used for IRS purposes. Appropriate giving statements for tax purposes cannot be issued for cash gifts.
Designated Giving
Designated giving is done through our colored envelope system. Our deacons approve designated funds to accomplish specific ministry goals. In order to protect the validity of the general fund budget, we encourage contributions made to designated gifts to be above regular giving. Please note that our church is under no legal obligation to accept designated gifts: gifts of designation that are not approved by our deacon board will be returned to the contributor. Both the pink building fund envelopes and the yellow special offering envelopes are located in the pew racks. Please note that you need to put your giving number on these envelopes in order to receive credit for your gift. These monies are put in a designated account to be used for the specific purpose intended. Our pink envelopes are used for building projects and the yellow envelope is used for special offerings . When using designated colored envelopes; label the front of the envelope or the memo portion of your check with the purpose of your gift. Note that checks need to be made payable to Faith Baptist church or if you choose, put cash in an envelope with your giving number. Please do not write checks to individuals or projects.
Electronic Giving
Automated Cash Handling (ACH) is a free automatic transfer of your contribution from your savings or checking account into the bank account of Faith Baptist Church. This way of giving benefits Faith by reducing our administrative expense and creates stability in contributions throughout the year. It also benefits givers by reducing the number of contributions you prepare. Electronic funds transfer is regulated by the Federal Reserve and has less risk involved than writing checks. On the ACH form you authorize the date of the fund transfer and the amount. In addition to church records , your bank will provide you with a statement listing your transfers. If you need to change banks, accounts, change the amount or date of the transfer; just complete a new ACH form. You can also cancel your authorization for electronic fund transfer at any time by contacting our business office.
Please complete and return a signed copy to our office. Kevin can send you the designated funds set & IRS guidelines for giving should there be a specific ministry or need you wish to support.
